RSGB Contest Results HF Championship 2015
v4.144 by G4CLA

Graham, G4FNL, entered all six qualifying events this year, and managed to achieve 95% of the maximum possible 6000 points.  He last won the G2QT Trophy in 2011, but is to be congratulated on getting his name on the cup again for this year!  Nick, G4FAL, was pushed into second place, not too far behind, and Bryn, G3SWC, also entering all six events, was in third place.

To be shown in the table, a contester needs to enter just one of the six qualifying RSGB contests over the year.  The number of participants has varied in recent years from around 200 to 250, although quite a small percentage actually enter more than two or three.  These figures would apparently show a low level of RSGB contesting activity, but the impression is misleading.  The Championship is of course based on individual participation, and therefore does not include Field Days and other club-oriented contests.  When these are taken into account, participation levels are quite healthy.

TheHF Championship for 2016 adds four new contests - the RSGB International Sprints.  Otherwise the same contests as in 2015 are included, but the formats of some of them will change.  The 1.8 MHz contests revert to CW-only with different timing.  The use of rotating post codes in RoPoCo will become rotating locators in RoLo - so allowing non-UK participation for the first time.  And the 21-28 MHz contest adds 14 MHz to the equation, becoming the RSGB DX Contest.  Good luck to all!
