RSGB Contest Results 144MHz May Contest 2014

The number of entrants was slightly up on last year. Conditions were reported as flat / average, very similar to 2013. The nice WX for large parts of the UK helped increase the portable ventures.

The winners of the open section for the 3rd year running are the Blacksheep CG G8T with the Colchester RA G0VHF/P in second place.

In the SF Section, Pete G4CLA operating at G0KPW takes the top slot this year and the contest ODX of 983km working F6DRO in JN03. Last year’s winner Roger, G3MEH is in 2nd place.

In the SO Section Michael, M0ICK/P improved from 2nd to 1st this year and Andrew, GW4XZL/P takes second place.

Richard GD8EXI is in 1st again this year with a dominant lead in the very busy 6S Section. Uri G0BBB takes 2nd place

In the 6O section Gordon and Ian operating MM0GPZ/P took the top slot and last year’s winner Chris with Pauline operating as G4G move down to 2nd place.

In general the logging quality was good but there were a number of avoidable errors in the logs with “1” being used instead of an “I” and reversal of the post codes seen. Make sure you check the logs thoroughly before submitting.
