2m UKAC - Review of 2012

Once again, two clubs dominated the 2m Club Championship; Bolton Wireless Club and Trowbridge & District Amateur Radio Club.  Trowbridge pushed Bolton hard in several of the sessions (and managed to win two of them) but the superior numbers of entrants from Bolton enabled them to secure the overall win and hence retain the G6NB Trophy.  Trowbridge were the runners-up with the Travelling Wave Contest Group in third place. 92 clubs competed in the 2m Club Championship.

In the AL section, G4VPD was the run-away winner scoring 7976, topping the table in seven of the twelve sessions. G4HGI was the runner-up scoring 7724 points.  M0RSD came third with 7658 points. 113 stations competed in the AL section.

The AO section was once again dominated by G4DEZ (SK) who won four of the eight sessions he entered and was placed either second or third in the remaining four sessions. G4FZN came second and GM4AFF came third. 45 stations competed in the AO section.

The top spot in the AR section was fought over by principally four stations (M0BRA, G3PYE, G4IRC and G0XDI).  Thirteen stations scored more than 7000 points and twenty-six stations scored more than 6000 points.  In the end, M0BRA came first scoring 7937 points by winning three sessions, coming second in three sessions and third in two sessions.  G3PYE/P came second with 7934 points by winning three sessions, coming second in three sessions, third in one session and fourth in one session. G4IRC came third with 7802 points. 274 stations competed in the AR section.

The AX section was dominated by GM4JR who entered every session and won nine of them. G0JJG came second with GM4VVX in third place.  10 stations competed in the AX section.
