RSGB Contest Results 432MHz Trophy 2015
v4.144 by G4CLA

Although the number of entries this year was lower than in record-breaking 2014, it did not stop Parallel Lines Contest Group, G8P, from producing another winning score.  This was undoubtedly assisted by their site, overlooking the English Channel at Dover.  They were able to capitalise on the large number of continental participants, making up two thirds of their QSO total, and giving them a big advantage in distance points.

Of course, achieving a top score also requires good equipment and antennas, combined with experienced operators, so G8P take home the 1951 Council Cup, for first place in Section O.

In second place, Colchester Radio Amateurs' site also overlooks the sea, in a position just north of the Thames Estuary.  Their log includes many stations from the European mainland, particularly Germany, helping to swell their QSO total as it did for other entrants in the southern part of England.

The SF Section was won once again by Roger, G3MEH, whose log was error-free.  Along with others, he reported average or poor conditions from his QTH in Hertfordshire, working just one British station outside England, in the Isle of Man.  Bob, G1ZJP, operating M1MHZ, came second, and he found GD, GM and GI as well as a good selection from the continent.

Thanks to all for participating.  Apart from the UKAC contests each month, the next contest devoted to 70cm is the 432MHz Low Power Contest on the 2nd August.

Ed Taylor, GW3SQX
