50MHz AFS Contest 2013

Poor, dreadful, grotty, lousy. . . and so the comments in the logs went on throughout, with the descriptions applying equally to the weather and propagation. While there were a good number of entries, barely one in five fixed stations could muster 50 contacts. Oddly, none of the portable stations benefited from the handful of Es contacts that cropped up.

Section O was closely contested between G4TSW (Tiverton) and G5PI/P (Camb-Hams), while section SF was a fight between neighbouring Spalding club members G4ODA and M1MHZ.

While not making certificate places in either table, Bristol CG top the AFS results by virtue of having consistency across their entries.

Congratulations to all mentioned, plus G8LZE as the highest scoring 25W/single antenna station, 2E0NEY as the leading Intermediate station and M6GZE as the leading Foundation station.
