G4RCG Great time in this RTTY contest, I really enjoyed it, kept a freq' for just over an hour before going S&P should have stayed on my frequency. G6fop High noise levels here spoiled the contest for me RIG ic7400,shortened dipole. worked well for a change G6UBM First attempt, I have a lot to learn!! G7SKR First data contest. Problems with last-minute DIY interface meant no RTTY. Antenna still needs to be sorted out. G7VRK Late start MixW worked well as all ways GM0ELP QRM generated every half hour when people looking for run frequency. Conditions good, lots of new callsigns this year. Got dark here at 20:00UTC. Thanks to all who worked me. M0CNP Conditions were ok until about 2010, then deteriorated rapidly. Good fun as usual. M0JQK Like platting fog but enjoyed it all the same M0MDF Dificult to start with but better later on M0NKS a lot of QRM about and signals being broken up M0NZA First bash at data mode contest - thanks for the contacts! Following up on complaints of RTTY stations operating in the PSK section of the band, members of the Contests Committee were monitoring this event. Two stations were noted calling CQ and making QSOs 600 and 1400Hz below the upper frequency limit respectively. Although it has been established that both incursions were unintentional (in one case the operator was using an unfamiliar rig and failed to allow sufficiently for the offset of the tones against the frequency readout) it was obvious to those monitoring that these stations obtained an unfair advantage due to the lack of QRM compared with frequencies above 3583. Accordingly, all their QSOs made in the PSK section have been disallowed, as have those of the stations who worked them, of course! The Committee is mindful of the pressure on band-space caused by the rapidly-increasing number of stations now operating datamodes. A number of suggestions have been put forward as to how the problem may be eased and these are under active consideration. Steve G3UFY SOAPBOX: G0DVJ Second attempt at data contest. G3RWL Need to encourage more PSK activity G3SVD Another poor show, could not get Win-test to work so had to revert to MixW after 15 mins. that worked OK but it was struggle on 10W! G3TBK FT1000MP 100 WATTS TO DIPOLE AT 55 FT Conditions fair tonight G3TLH Good conditions fading towards the end G3TXF CQ'd on 3594.3 for most of the time. Amazed to get 59 QSOs within the first hour. These CCs have probably generated a significant upswing in interest in RTTY Contesting. Great stuff! G3VCA Main radio failed 10 minutes prior to the contest. Mad rush to change radios & convert FSK into AFSK with different interfaces. No twin filters or DSP; struggled separating stations with analogue hi G3VIP RIG IC7000 10W - 50M LW - Hamscope & Homebrew Logger Good condx plenty of stns to work with QRP G3VUS my performance was hopeless. The only way is up G3WVG 100w ft1000mP to dipole at 70ft G3XYF Some stns on RTTY in PSK31 section G3ZBU Lots of activity, which was great. I did notice that the first few characters would appear corrupted occasionally, so it wasn't always certain if a station was contacted by the station sending CQ. Therefore sometimes two stations would reply simultaneously. G3ZGC 10w.First outing of my IC7700 on RTTY. Much better results than last time. I wanted to compare last results with a soundcard to results with new rig, whilst using same power. Antenna 132ft wire wrapped into 55ft garden. G3ZVW Noisier conditions than previous data periods. G4EBK Conditions a lot better this time. G4FKA Had a torrid time with the auto-tuner. Looks like it may have been the cause of my antenna woes after all as it has clearly developed a fault. Spent 90 minutes manually adjusting it on every transmission! Maybe a bad joint or faulty L or C. G4FQI Could have sworn that was my freq? G4OGB Condx picking up.
