SOAPBOX:

GM3POI
A slow start as usual

2E0CVN
Great contest as always! Lots of activity and very happy with the end score! C u in SSB!

2E0IMW
Only Second CW Contest

2E0JPJ
Enjoyable first solo CW contest. a big THANK YOU to all stations who patiently worked me;-)

G0DAY
Fair conditions worked most of what I could hear. All contacts were S&P

G0DVJ
Good activity levels.  Lots of longer skip. Only a few anti contest jammers this year! Very enjoyable as usual

G0EFO
A good mannered contest with hardly any free space on the band. Not a lot of QRN this year.  Very enjoyable

G0GFQ
Still improving

G0IBN
Heavy QRM and weak signals made things difficult

G0LHZ
Great fun!

G0MRH
A good contest and good operators. Band conditions were good for this centre of England station except for about an hour of high noise about three parts the way through

G0MTN
If only the first hour netted a few more QSOs...

G0NXA
Did all I wanted; my first ever entry!

G0OKF
Some QRM  from Football on TV !!!!!

G2AA
Band very noisy towards the end.

G2JL
I am getting old

G3EAO
Apologies for my poor keyer/keying hi

G3GLL
Seemed to be fewer stations this year ?

G3HEJ
No radio noises this year from neighbours,  & excellent cw operating, (as far as i heard)

G3JJG
The crowded band made me admit my age to myself

G3JRM
Very nice afternoons contesting with  mostly very civilised behavour. Interesting changes in band condx as the afternoon wore on. Great fun!

G3KLH
Good signals from everyone including 5B4

G3LAS
Good fun again

G3LDI
Excuses: Setting ESM to start after 3 characters should have had a practice run first! I got in one heck of a muddle with my first 10 QSO's and spent more time editing than making Q's! That'll teach me! Still cannot compete from the Far East here in the wilds of East Anglia, enjoyed it as usual

G3LET
Very quiet conditions and good propagation to the East. Was called by Alex UA9CM, who I last worked in 1958. Good signals from Cyprus as well. Started out well, but soon fell behind mainly due to not keeping up with the dupe sheet.  Some welcome new faces

G3LHJ
Great condx - lots of activity - really enjoyed it - first time broke the 200 Q's barrier from down here. CU next year, God willing.

G3LIK    Slow to start with but picked up later. Found a few stations were off frequency which made reception difficult at times with the amount of stations on the band. Good to hear some of the newer amateurs trying.

G3LVP
Despite previous testing the PC locked up due to RFI after 4 QSO's. Found this caused by BT line into modem OK once disconnected. Still learning N1MM which sometimes did unexpected things! Perhaps it's too sophisticated for this event(and me!). Conditions not very good (long skip even at the start?). A number of signals very weak and hard to copy under local noise

G3MIR    First 3 hrs very busy

G3NDJ
Good fun and condx fine

G3NFB
Enjoyable contest.  Condx good until near the end.

G3NKS
Good fun as always.  Good inter-G conditions.

G3OLB
Condx very good for inter-G during the whole contest.

G3PDH
AFS seemed a bit slow at times, maybe there were less stations on? Very enjoyable though.

G3PHO
Only managed to operate for the last half hour due to other commitments.  Exc. conditions!

G3PSM
Good conditions but a short Hungarian contest caused some minor problems.

G3RFH
Seemed to be plenty of activity. Just shows what a contest can do to liven up a 'dead' band.

G3RSD    Condx were good with constant stream of stns to work

G3RWF
Good fun - conditions OK

G3RWL    Reduction of QRS corral very welcome

G3SJJ
My first AFS with the K3 and it performed extremely well, giving me my  best ever 1st hour of 120 Qs. The downside was that I hadn't mastered  the 2nd Rx ergonomics for SO2V so went S&P in the last hour and then  couldn't find a Run freq until 1735. Overall an excellent session.

G3TBK
Very slow start, thought I had the wrong day! It could only get better - it did slightly.

G3TKF    Lots of activity - good fun

G3TXF
AFS-CW is a great opportunity to wish all the UK's CW Contesters HNY!

G3UJE
Contest got off to a slowish start but then quickly settled into a good rythm.  Conditions were average for the first half but worsened after that when skip lengthened.  Surprised at the excellent standard of operating throughout this event.  Although my sending speeds were between 28 - 32 wpm, exchanges were consistently confirmed first time and especially by those newly licensed stations who were often sending at considerably slower speeds.  Who said morse is dead?  Another very enjoyable event.

G3VCA
good conditions

G3VCQ
Fab contest!  Band was very busy which was great!  I lost the first 8 minutes due to a wintest problem not keying the rig! (All ok earlier when tested!)  Anyway busy first two hours then it started to get towards sunset and the QSB set in and it became harder to work inter G. Of course it was harder too trying to find someone not previously worked! Rig was FT857d with no CW filters (nightmare if more than one station called) and the ant was a vertical.

G3VDB
Seemed a good turn out. Plenty of room for learning and improvement here

G3VIP
Plenty of stations, condx variable, quiet periods.

G3VPW
Always leave it too late to get SD up and running. Spent 7 minutes configuring PORTS, everything changed since the 80m CC last Tuesday !!! Wasted the first 9mins

G3VQO
not a full-time attempt - too many distractions!

G3VYI
Skip very long - Inv L 1/2 wave not good to midlands! Good to work lots of M and 2E’s! CU next year with a doublet !

G3WGV
I was only on for a short while and wasn't making a serious attempt.

G3WKS (op G4FDC)
I suggest expanding the exchange to include abbreviation of the club eg:  579 001 WKARS (West Kent Amateur Radio Society)

G3WNI
PC clock scrambled. Caused alarm and despondancy. Hope adjudicators sympathetic about PC clock problem! Found conditions fine and enjoyed the contest.

G3XSV
My run frequency got wiped out by a commercial gizmo half way through, but otherwise very enjoyable

G3YEC
Plenty of signals but ONCE AGAIN some very big and running WELL Over the UK limit. When o when is the RSGB going to do something to correct this.

G3YHV
Good conditions and a busy contest

G3YMC
Good contest though slightly down in QSOs this year. Conditions generally good but deep QSB at times on signals which made it harder on QRP. On which, is it not about time a QRP section was introduced?

G3ZBU
Plenty of activity but aerial was not high enough. In fact my son and I only managed to erect dipole by 14:15 so must start earlier next time! Great fun.

G3ZCG/A
Pretty good. Trouble is some S9 stations nicked my frequency. Why do they do it!? Running 200w from IC775DSP using G3LLKs QTH and dipole up 50 ft. What a pleasure to run from a noise free QTH unlike my home with an awful noise level.

G3ZRJ    Very frustrating to miss out on 200. Thought i was going to get a really good score up to about 15.30 then zzzzzzz. Spent about half an hour in QRS area at about 12wpm. Glad to help less QRQ ops get some points

G3ZVW
Just 2hrs 30 mins of operation, then off to ZD8

G4AIU
As usual, a pleasant afternoon.

G4ALE (op G3WRR)
My best ever result in CW AFS - conditions must have favoured the deep south this year! Panic as I blew up the bias supply on my linear and had to re-jig the setup with minutes to go - but got on only 4 minutes late!

G4BJM
Good fun, apart from the key clicks

G4BXT
"There were good times, there were bad times!" As usual, high electronic noise in a densely populated area. Also had to take time out to adjust antenna. However, very enjoyable after a three decade break. Surprisingly few EU stations contacted.

G4CWH
Signals faded somewhat for the last hour, like last year. I'm sure they didn't used to do this years ago?

G4CZB
Band noisy at the start but quieter later on.

G4DDX
Very busy with lots of strong stations right up to the end. Once again it showed how poor my antenna is on 80 but unable to improve matters Hi.

G4DJX
Lots of noise on band - no DX worked this year

G4DQP
Continuous S7-9 local noise level plus receiver front end blocking from semi local high power station. Fully enjoyed the contest, but must get a better contest rig.

G4EBK
Seemed to be much less hectic this year but I worked more stations than last year. Last hour very slow.

G4FAL
My first outing in AFS. It seemed to be a bit more leisurely than the evening 80m championship contests and with many of the same familiar calls. I had to do something else at 5pm but the rate was pretty low by then except more kind overseas stations calling as it got dark.

G4FBS
Conditions good, lots of activity

G4FKA
Very enjoyable. Plenty to work throughout

G4FNL
Improved score on last year. Good rate for the first two hours. I lost my run freq when I went to S&P on the other VFO a few times!  Inter-G conditions seemed OK throughout. I swapped aerials from a low horizontal loop to an inverted L towards the end of the contest. Nice to work UA9 and 5B4. Thanks to all for the QSO's

G4KZD
On late but good start spent most of time S&P. Perhaps some should install a proper checklogging program as a large number of dupes all of which called me!! Generally good condx throughout, damn good fun!

G4LMW
My first AFS and great fun.

G4MOE
Used 20 watts throughout

G4NWJ
Band conditions very good, a most enjoyable contest.

G4OGB
What strange condx.

G4OOC
Really enjoyed it. Band condx were good.

G4OSB
Good fun had by all. Making good use of equipment and time

G4PIQ
Unable to do the full contest this time due to family commitments so had to content myself with 2.5 hours from home. Unfortunately this had to include the last hour where propagation had gone long.

Antenna clearly still a long way from optimum even though I added another few radials and raised it up another 10ft in the stealth of darkness last night!

G4RCG
Great Test, although not as many on as previous times. Managed to hold my qrg right up to the last 25 mins when I went S&P to find the ones I missed. There were some terrible key clicks from some well known calls! On the whole a great afternoons contesting.

G4TSH
Fair effort. Seemed to be a lack of activity, still unable to break past the 260 barrier and will be well down the list this year.

G7PVZ    Everything was rosy!!!!! Good contest, very enjoyable way to digest Sunday lunch. Used the little Icom 703 with 10 Watts into a G5RV. SD worked flawlessly as normal. Thanks everyone, and see you in the next one.

GM0ELP
Lots of G3s as usual, big change in stations when nightfall came at 5pm. Some DX creeping in at the end. Stations really packed in every 200Hz. Great turn out, manners generally good, thanks to all who worked me.

GM3SEK
Too windy to crank up the tower, but score is about the same as last year.

GM3VEY    Noise levels very high at my QTH. Wish the speed merchants would consider the slower op. Great fun - look forward to next year

GM3WIJ
Last min change of antennas was a doubtful improvement. Still a challenge.

GM4BKV
Enjoyable and sharpens up the CW

GM4FAM    Hard going first hour but skip  improved later.

GM4OBD
Conditions good all the time.

GM4SID
Reduced activity this year I think.

GM4UBJ
Inter G conditions were good but the weather was horrendous ! The gales forced me to drop the tower down to 5mts so my windom zigzags down at the far end. Also my power reduced to 50watts to keep my neighbours sweet. Nice to hear 80mts jumping!

GM4UYZ
I didn't think I was going to manage to get on this year as I was supposed to be driving south with my work but this was cancelled. All QSO's were done by Search and Pounce. Not a great total I must but I thoroughly enjoyed what I did so I suppose that is the main thing.

GM4XQJ
Very surprised at the number of 'G' stations who started well before contest start time!!

GM4ZUK
Band much noisier than usual. Very windy wx. Dipole broke twice in the morning before contest. Hoped to improve on last year but exact same qso total!

M0AAC
Good fun as usual. YES it’s getting easier each time I gain experience

M0CNP
A thoroughly enjoyable contest, quite relaxing, with average conditions

M0DHO
Lively contest with all the usual folks. Very pleased to hear some great CW from M3 stations.

M0SSR    Good contest

M0TIF
Enjoyable contest thanks to all organizers. Some PC and keyer users were not QRS friendly I found.

M0VBY
Good Start - Poor Finish - Great fun - Tnx to all

M0XIE
My 2nd CW contest! Only got on the air for final 1.5 hours

M3OSP
Enjoyable but hampered by finger trouble. Conditions quite good but operators need to listen

M3WCK
Enjoyable contest. For me 4 hours is too long. Would like to see a 10 min break

M6FBK
Running 10w. Tnx to those that copied me.

MM0GPZ
High QRM at home QTH made life difficult here. Inverted L not best antenna for this either but not much option. May try to squeeze in a temporary dipole for the SSB event. Condx didn't seem to favour GM as we hope it will this early in the year :-)

MM0ROV
Conditions seemed better this year.

MM0TGB
1535 I was totally swamped with QRM and noise and unable to continue working the contest

PA0FAW
Plenty of activity

YU1FG
This year I had no much time but I hope next year will be better.
