1930 Committee Cup            G4EBK

Houston-Fergus Trophy        G5LP/P

HFCC Trophy                          G4LMW

Southgate Trophy                   GM3JKS/P

Conditions on 80m and 40m were variable this year, some stations reported that conditions were good while other stations in other parts of the UK had QRN and rain.  Having a leisurely break at lunchtime seems to be going down well, and many /P stations enjoyed eating al fresco.

Numbers were slightly down this year, some getting ready for IOTA and some falling foul to the QRN, not to mention the cows - Alan G4BLI.

Congratulations to George G4EBK who wins the 1930 Committee Cup for Section A - 10W fixed.  George used a new mode this year… “ESP”. Well - it certainly worked. In the 10W Portable - Section B, Lionel G5LP/P wins the Houston Fergus Trophy.

The winner for the 3W fixed station Section C goes to Rob G4LMW and he will be awarded a new trophy - the impressive HFCC Trophy. Congratulations to Frank GM3JKS/P for winning the Southgate Trophy for the 3W Portable section - Section D, despite all those pesky midges.

This being a QRP contest and working in noisy conditions, I would like to congratulate the following stations on their error free logs: G4ARI/P, G4OGB,
G0MTN, G6CSY, M0BKH and 9A4LW.

Increasing interest is shown by European stations and I thank you for your support.

Check logs are gratefully acknowledged from G3VQO, G3WRR, G6OKU, G8MIA, M0OKT and YL3DX.

Thank you to all who supported Low Power Field Day, see you next year.

Dave Mason, G3RXP

Soapbox.

9A4LW
RU-20 Transceiver; 2W out

DD1IM
Ufb traffic in part 1, deep hole since starting the 2nd, frustrating loss of
some stns due to qsb. But I love this terrific excercise for the ears - really nothing for the obviously growing community of "crocodile ops" in mni
other tests, hi.

DJ0YZ
TS120V   Doublet 30m up 8m

DK5CS
IC703 and Windomantenna used.

G0MTN
Nice activity - pity not more free time.

G0ORH/P
Condx were dreadful very noisy bands and heavy rain made qrp difficult. lot of op's were missing from the log looking at last years LPFD. Nice to work GU3TUX on 80m. Home built K2 10w radio 80/40m dipole 110amp leisure battery.

G3JRM/P
A nice relaxing day in the country even the weather was kind. Condx very noisey at the outset but cleared to a reasonable level after the first half an hour. We felt activity levels heard here seemed very much down on last year so in consequence finished early.

G3LHJ
Sunday morning was enjoyable nice to meet the regulars again condx could have been better for Qrp and 40M on Sunday afternoon went long skip and very boreing so took an hour off and watched the Golf !! CU next year

G3LX/P
Enjoyed the contest as usual change of pace welcome. But could do to have more activity in the afternoon. Add another band or be able to work all stations again after lunch.

G3RSD
Could only operate in the afternoon session. Found condx very noisy with lots of static

G3VIP
RIG IC7000 3W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger
Plenty of /p stations. Good first session then big struggle in afternoon
at times on 40m only station could hear was GM3BSQ/P at s9. Had to break
couple of times rain static caused arcing in atu. Roll on some sunspots.

G3VQO
only two I heard !!!

G3WRR
Just popped on to give out a few points. Bands seemed very noisy and signals weak. So when next door turned on their plasma TV that was the end of it!

G3ZGC
10w from IC7700 to wire wrapped in garden. Not a serious effort this year. Too busy packing for IOTA!

G4ARI/P
Portable QTH - RISE ROCKS NGR SK473121 NR MARKFIELD
WX fine in morning but torrential rain all afternoon. Long 40m skip better suited to GMs. Very enjoyable as usual. Nice to have a lunch break & picnic with family

G4BLI/P
Atrocious Dartmoor weather and cows trying to knock down the antenna and chew the feeder gave rise to considerable distruption for a sole operator!!! But I'll be back again next year. Please keep this excellent contest!!

G4DBW
Elecraft K3 running at 3 watts RF out G5RV dipole at 20 feet agl.

G4DDX/P
The normal heavy rain and strong winds gave some alarm but no problems this year.Operated from my car. Conditions seemed poor and little band noise but qrm from rain on car Hi. Used paper logging as running off
battery. Input into SD as usual.

G4EBK
Very noisy here again no doubt many errors from QSB and esp guesswork. Intended to go portable this but changed mind when checked the Wx forecast. Pleased I didn't go out many heavy showers throughout the day.

G4FNL
My first entry in LP Field Day. Suprisingly good signal strength from the QRP stns. I couldn't be active for the whole contest so hopefully I won't be too near the bottom of the scores with just 45 Q's

G4KZD/P
Station located in Norfolk

G4LMW
Appalling conditions. Grateful to the stations that appeared towards the end to give some points away.

G4OGB
Poor condx suggest entrants can work each other again in the second half.

G4RQI/P
Plenty of activity in the first session but pretty dire for the second.

G5BK/P
40m went all long skip in the afternoon.  o.k. if you're a GM!

G5LP/P
Enjoyable as usual, operated /P from near to Minstead in the New Forest - dry, sunny but very windy - was in danger of losing the fibre glass pole and W3DZZ several times in the gales

G6CSY
Only 20 minutes available. Where was the 80m activity though? Surprised no QRO stations on 40m.

G6NUM
heavy and deep QSB in 1st part seemlingly far less stations on in 2nd part
constant rain showers caused much QRM from nearby HV power lines
managed to work everyone I could hear and improved on last years score

GM3BSQ/P
Back to Walker Pk this year no storm force winds. Odd showers but nice day.
Sea on three sides which means a nice take off. Station including laptop all battery powered

Started as a disaster and quickly got worse.
Naively thought that my 750mW /P on QRP frequency would
provide some contacts.  Blamed Rig /antenna and
everything within earshot --  just a few cows so no
lasting damage in the neighbourhood. On returning
home found no activity around 3.560 and the band in
pretty poor shape. Well theres next year!!

YL3DX

some QSO with QRP stations. During the second part there was huge thunderstorm with flashes and cats and dogs rain. So no chance for QSO. 73 & DX! Alec
