50MHz Backpackers Championship of 2005

Thirteen stations submitted entries for the 50MHz Backpackers Championship this year. This is an improvement over last year (six entries in 2004) and as a consequence, this series of contests will be run again in 2006. However, unless more entries are received next year, 2006 may be the last year that the 50MHz Backpacker contests are held.

This year the majority of the entries were in the Single Operator sections. As a consequence of this, a clear winner has emerged.

Congratulations to Dave Hewitt (GW8ZRE/P) for winning the 50MHz Backpackers Trophy. The runner-up this year is Peter Lowrie (GI7JYK/P).
