4m UKAC 2009

The rules for the all the UK Activity Contests were altered significantly for 2009. The sections were changed to segregate entrants on power and antennas only, regardless of whether the station was fixed, portable, single-op or multi-op. The normalisation scheme was also altered so that the number of points scored only depended on the final position in each month's results table and the number of stations who entered. These changes were intended to reward consistent performance rather than a good performance in only a few sessions.

Following the success of the Club Championship in 144MHz UKAC, the Club Championship section was extended to all UKACs in 2009.

Entry level in the 4m UKAC has followed the trend of the other bands with a substantial increase from 20 to 55 stations. This is no doubt as a direct result of including the club championship element as can be seen in the results tables.

227 different calls were logged throughout the 4 sessions which take place on the 5th Tuesday of the month. In 2009 this occurred in March, June, September & December.

Tony Pugh, GW8ASD is clear winner of the AR section with Mike & Ann Stevens, G8CUL as runners-up. Bryn Llewellyn, G4DEZ is clear winner of the AO section winning all 4 sessions to give him the maximum 4,000 points. Phil Guttridge, G3TCU is runner-up.

The Bolton Wireless Club win the Club Championship section with Harwell ARS as runners-up.

Chris Moore, 2E0XLG is leading intermediate licensee & Graham Wood, M6GRA is leading foundation licensee.

The rules for this contest have been slightly altered for 2010. Entries must now be submitted within 7 days of the end of each session. The AR section is now limited to 40W output power to a single antenna. The first 2010 4m UKAC session takes place on 30th March at 19:00 UTC. The following sessions are in June, August & November.
