Comments from the Logs:
2E0TXT/P
First time very windy thank God for my old fishing brolley
G0BWC/P
Rather windy and very wet at times
G0LJD/P
Very windy resulting in mast height only 3 metres and tied to car. Then started raining, visibility closed to less than 100yds. After 2 1/2 hrs decided to get off the hill.
G0LMV/P
very strong winds, 45MPH. Hard work holding the beam at times with the Armstrong rotator. Not much from the north this time and multipliers were hard to find.
G3BPK/P
Breezy on the hill. Rain showers mostly missed us. Could hear continental stations but too much QSB to work them. Didn't hear a single GM station though! Thanks to all who took part. Still a great contest.
G3SDC/P
Operator availability meant DMUARS was in the BackPackers rather than VHF NFD. Weather was warm but very breezy which meant lots of background noise (tent flapping, mast humming). Conditions seemed reasonable as indicated by ODX, but QSO total was down on expectations. However, good fun was had by all and we hope to be out again in the next BP.
G4ARI/P
Below average conditions. Below average activity considering it was VHF FD. But WX was fantastic and it was great fun
G4HUN/P
Very windy, which made putting up the aerial quite fun! The Europeans showed up, and all the Scottish Stations took the day off this time! 2x GD stations pitching up right at the end caused a flurry!
G4VRC/P
WX Sunny to start then overcast and very windy but stayed dry. After hearing strong GM stations Sat evening at home none heard on Sun. Were they all blown away? Otherwise good spread of stations worked.
G4XZL/P
Heard EA2DHJ/P at S9+ just before the contest but gradually faded into the noise just before 11.00!! At long last made a QSO into DL from IO90, but no GMs heard. Very windy but dry, conditions good
G7DDN/P
Wind wind wind and lots of fun.
G8HXE/P
Extremely windy and managed to break the support mast. Some continentals heard but no GM.
G8PNN/P
Very strong winds and heavy rain during most of the contest
GW3YXM/P
Windy! Stopped on way home from Wales to operate.
GW4RWR/P
Serious wind. Guy rope snapped, pole fell and reflector severed 5mins before start, so a late start. No GM heard. DK0BN couldn't hear me. Tripped, lacerated forehead and smashed knee on rock 20mins before end. No 'phone with me. Nearly called mayday!
GW8ZRE/P
Terrible gale mast bending then rain had to finish early due to WX. No GM/GD/GI heard.
M0REG/P
Very windy, some nice contacts, although slightly distracted by the Avro Vulcan passing low overhead!
M5ABH/P
Condx ok but dx hard with qrp. was windy had to operate in baby tree forest to get some shelter think caused some attenuation
MW1EYP/P
Very strong gales and rain. Needed some kind of shelter hence could set up right on the summit as intended.
