Backpackers Championship of 2011

The Backpacker series of contests attracted 53 entrants over the five sessions with 26 entries for the 10W Hill Toppers section and 27 for the 3W Backpackers section.

In the Backpackers section, Rhys GW4RWR/P only operated in the first three sessions - but managed to win each of them giving him an unassailable winning score of 3000 points. The runner-up in this section, Andrew G4XZL/P operated in four of the five sessions, winning the 3W section of the 5^th Backpackers contest. Paul 2E0CVU/P operated to good effect in three of the sessions gaining the Leading Intermediate Station award.

The Hill Toppers section saw Walt G3NYY/P also gaining the maximum possible total of 3000 points thus earning the Winner's certificate. The runner-up, past Backpackers Champion Dave GW8ZRE/P was close on Walt's heels, scoring 2710 points. Tristan 2E0VXX/P gained the Leading Intermediate Station award for the Hill Toppers section.
