Very windy - put aerial 1m lower than usual. Worked everyone I could hear in first 2 hours, and then took aerial back down.

Good conditions to EA / F. Was going to erect Yagi before contest but gales put paid to that. So just a token effort for the club with the vertical.

Good DX at start and for around 1.5hrs to south, some deep and rapid QSB No other preamp used so TS2000 barefoot. Output much down from the rated 50watts (battery voltage)

extreme SW gale--ant at lower height than normally--condx good to EA & F--v poor to north & east--tks to all for Qs--sri to several missed-- QSB & QRM/N high--local stn 30K wide--.330 to .360 unusable

Some good condx along the weather front to the SW of France. The strong winds prevented a more elaborate set-up. Activity was good making for an enjoyable event.

Not the weather for portable operation, very high winds, left tower fully wound down. Good conditions to the south plus lots of activity from the French contest made for a great start. Conditions were even better before the start. Where were all the GM's -only worked one from here? Conditions seemed OK to the east too with a couple of strong DL's in the log. Very pleased with the score, much better than expected!

Very windy, only managed to get half of my 21 Ele H/B DL6WU in the air, rapid QSB and very poor conditions to South where most of the points were. Worked all I could hear on 20 watts

In the right part of the country for a change!

Post-contest investigation of the IC-910 suggests actual TX power may have been much lower than 75w, but not sure when the failure occurred. Not a fantastic 70cm QTH, but at least the mast held up well in the wind!

After late evening/night antenna and tower work I got wrong feeder for 70Cms antenna!! As 2&70 are on same tower I assumed [incorretly] that I had wrong feeder so changed over - - to 2m antennas and spent 1st hour on those with very strange beam headings BUT heard several "F" stations. After changing feeder to correct one I didn't hear any more "F" stations but beam headings now accurate! No LNA but still heard more than I could work on single antenna :(

Not too much activity from the UK, relatively more activity from France. Excited about the EA's though they did not volunteer a serial number, maybe due to language problems? Or just because it was an English Contest?
