L G2AS/P IO93 26 5,860 225 DL0GTH 899 20 35 el yagi by Tonna Better conditions to Eu than last year and was pleased to work 899km into eastern Germany with my 20W and 35 element Tonna. Heard TM7G at over 1100km but he could not hear me! For much of the weekend reception and consequently QSO rate were both severely limited by S6 to S9 wideband noise sweeping across the whole band. Two other Yorkshire stations told me they have had the same problem for over 7 months, but this was after I had dropped the mast and changed a coax lead between antenna and transverter, thinking it to be the culprit! The two locals believe it is PLT being radiated from the National Grid as apparently Ofcom permission had been asked for some months ago. The noise was not there during last year's VHFNFD. If this continues then our site is now unusable, for at least 23cm :-(

MS G2XV/P JO02 15 3,583 239 TM7G 993 10 55 ele Tonna Most of the activity must have been on Saturday? Expect to do a lot better on this band. Poor result for the effort - no internet and databases - As I understand it we could have made active use of these on this band, this result suggests we must if we do this again.
