4^th 80m CC Datamodes Contest 20^th May 2026

The 80m Datamodes CC season continues with 133 entries submitted, six down on last month. Conditions were generally reported as variable this month, some enjoying excellent conditions whilst others suffering. This is otherwise known as the Curate's Egg (or so my Grandmother always said). Yet again, and despite my constant mentions, again there was evidence of folk being a little excited and overdriving the audio stages, or forgetting to turn off the compressor. This only loses QSOs not gains them.

So to the results with Clubs first. Norfolk ARC have dominated the competition in the Local section and have put up what seems to me to be an unassailable lead. The fight is between Newbury and Bristol who have stretched their lead slightly, impressive effort from a Contest Group. In the General section the Three A's have motored away with an impressive lead leaving De Montfort University ARC holding 2nd place whilst Echelford ARS are in 3rd place.

In the individual results wins were recorded for:-

G3G (G3XLG) in the 100W-A Section with PC4H, the leading overseas station

M4N (G4IZZ) in the 10W-A Section

M7W (G3TBK) in the 100W-U Section with DF8QB, the leading overseas station

G4PIQ in the 10W-U section.
