RSGB 80/40m CW AFS Contest 2023

This contest was well supported again with 229 logs and a good Non UK&CD entry. This is a reduction in individual  entries from 2022. 80m was in a poor condition till later but the 40m band conditions were reported as good throughout by many entrants. This is quite a change from previous years. Many UK stations worked continentals who were participating in various other contests, especially on 40m. Northern UK stations did not fare so well this year.

The scores have been divided into three power categories, with certificates for the highest numeric teams in each category. The highest scoring local club was Camb Hams A, followed by Cray Valley RS A and Bristol CG. The highest General Club entry was again Three A's A, who also win the Edgware Trophy for the highest club score. They are followed by RSGB Contest club A, then De Montfort University ARS A.

The first placed individual score went to G4PIQ ,who wins the Marconi Trophy, followed by MD4K (GD4XUM),, and M4T (M0BEW). In the other power sections, the leading 100W station was MW2I ( GW4FRE), ahead of  G4PVM and G4BVY, The leading 10W station was G4A (G4TSH),  ahead of M0RYB and M7R (G0TPH).The leading non UK station was OE5TXF, ahead of SF6W (SM6EWB) and DF5EN.The leading intermediate station was again 2E0OBO.
