The 2019 RSGB IOTA Contest -  Results

The RSGB IOTA contest was again very popular  in 2019, with 2364 entries, which is an increase of  about  200  on 2018 . The entries were made up of  29 M2, 61 M1 logs, 1988 Single Ops and 286 checklogs. The increase over 2018 is mainly in  the Single operator section. The most popular World section was again the 12hour category, with over 780 entries, and the most popular Island section was in the  CW single operator section with 224 entries.

There were 123 Island Dxpedition stations in the contest, again more than last year, there were  entries from Dxpeditions  in Oceania,  North America, and Asian  and Africa ,and of  course in Europe  including four new ones.  If you click on  the red highlighted IOTA reference s below it will bring up  the IOTA  map and links. This year there was much activity this year in North America, especially on  the west coast, and a major north east coast Canadian Dxpedition again to Portage Island. Band conditions were described  as generally poor, but in southern  Europe many  contacts were  indeed made on 10m on saturday afternoon  and  Sunday  morning. Band activity can be viewed by clicking on the QSO  Analysis button below. Some northern Europe scandanavian stations reported very hot  weather and storms, and some Japanese entries  reported a major cyclone moving through just before the contest, hampering setup.
