1.3GHz UKAC 2022 - 20/12/22 SESSION & WHOLE YEAR RESULTS

In reviewing the results of the 2022 1.3GHz UKAC series, it's worth starting with some overall statistics. The number of clubs taking part was 53, 30 in the General Club section and 23 in the Local Club section. Overall, this was 22% down on the figure for 2021. The percentage drop in General Club entries was around four times that for Local Club entries, suggesting that a degree of consolidation has been taking place in General Clubs. The total number of different callsigns submitting entries across the year was 224 (41 section AO, 55 section AR and 128 section AL) - overall a 17% drop on the 2021 figure. The number of entries per month showed a gradual decline throughout the year (from 122 in January to 91 in December) with a maximum of 122 in January and a minimum of 90 in July. The total number of different calls appearing in logs across the whole year was 654. The total number of DXCC entities worked across the series was sixteen (DL, EI, F, G, GD, GI, GJ, GM, GU, GW, HB, LA, ON, OZ, PA and SM). This included all UK&CD call areas. The total number of big squares was 62. Monthly best DXs varied between 973km and 944km, with the best of the year taking place in the July session between G3VCA (IO93) and SM6VTZ (JO58) at 973km,

Looking at the club results, in the General Club section the leading entrant was Northern Fells CG, who was also leading entrant last year. In second place was Harwell ARS who move up one place from third. In the Local Club section, Parallel Lines CG moved up three places to take first, with Hereford ARS - last year's winners - taking second.

Moving on to individual results, the leading two entrants in the Open section were G3XDY in first place and G4ODA in second - the fifth consecutive year these two stations have held those positions! In the Restricted section, the leading place was retained by G4CLA who has been first in the section every year since 2016! G7LRQ moved up three places to second. In the Low Power section, G0WUS(/P) moved up four places to take first, followed by G3SQQ who retained second place for the third year running.

The station providing best DX to the greatest number of entrants (115) was PA5Y in JO21.

Congratulations to all the certificate winners and thanks to all the 2022 participants. That's it for the 2022 23cm UKAC series - hope to see you on the band in the 2023 season!
