RSGB Contest Results 432MHz UKAC 2024
v4.182.1 by G4CLA

A noteworthy three hundred and fifty-three stations contributed one or more entries to this year's 432MHz UK Activity Contest, representing thirty-eight Local and thirty-eight General Clubs. Should your club find itself listed within the General Club classification, yet all members reside or operate within an eighty-kilometre radius of your designated meeting place, a move to the Local Club Section for next year may be achieved by contacting afs.query@rsgbcc.org .

Propagation conditions throughout the year exhibited considerable variation, ranging from exceptional to rather unfavourable. For a significant proportion of participants, the most fruitful event proved to be the concluding contest in December, which afforded favourable propagation to Scandinavia, particularly for those located in the Northern regions of the UK. The record for the longest distance contact was shared between Mike GW0CDA/P to ES2AFF and Peter GM4BYF to LY2R that 1676Km,

This year's victors in the Local Club Section are the Parallel Lines CG, replicating their triumph of the preceding year with the highest score across all twelve events. Chesham & DARS secured a commendable second place. In the General Club Section, Northern Fells CG exhibited a dominant performance, securing victory in all twelve events, thereby achieving first place for the third consecutive year. Harwell ARS advanced from third to second position this year. A big thank-you is extended to all AFS teams who participated, thereby enhancing the level of activity to the benefit of all entrants.

In the individual categories, Pete G4CLA has secured the top position in the Open Section. The contest for second and third places proved exceedingly close, though not quite matching the parity witnessed last year when a tie was declared between Keith G4ODA and Richard GD8EXI. This year, Keith emerged victorious in second place, with Richard securing third and also providing the most number of stations with their best DX during the year. Roger, EI8KN, achieved a most respectable twelfth place overall, thus becoming the highest-ranking non-UK entry.

The top five positions in the Restricted Section were remarkably closely contested this year. John G3XDY maintained a slender lead over his rivals to secure first place, with Wayne MW0LKX ascending from sixth position in 2023 to second this year. The highest placed non-UK entry was Jacques F1BHL.

In the Low Power Section, Steve, G1YBB, claimed the top spot, achieving the maximum possible points in all sessions, with Steve G0EAK in second place. Jelke PA0FEI was the highest-ranking non-UK participant.

A special commendation is in order for all the Intermediate and Foundation class winners:

  • M7FWJ in the Open Section
  • 2E0VCC and M7LHE in the Restricted Section
  • 2E0SBM and M6XAK in the Low Power Section

Thank you to all participants in this year's 432MHz activity contests, and we hope to see you all again in 2025.

Pete G4CLA
