RSGB Contest Results 70MHz UKAC 2012
v4.182.1 by G4CLA

Although the final October session saw a slight reduction in logs with 60 received, 2012 has been another good year for activity in the 70 MHz UKAC. This series of contests fall on the 5th Tuesday of the month & in 2012 this occurred 4 times (January, May, July & October). In 2013 there will be 5 sessions (January, April, July, October & December).

Please remember that the power restrictions for the 70 MHz UKAC sections differ from several of the other bands. Several entries had to be moved to different sections because power levels did not meet the section requirements.

The overall winner of the AL section was G1HSG/P who was in top place for 2 of the 4 sessions, section leader for the other sessions was G8XYJ/P. G3PYE/P are overall winners of the AR section & lead 2 of the 4 sessions, other section leaders were M0NUT/P & G0EHV/P who made 2nd place in the final results. In the AO section, G4FZN is overall winner of the AO section & was on a winning streak by leading 3 of the 4 sessions, G3MEH was section leader for the January session. GM4JR wins the AX section & also managed to keep ahead by taking top place in 3 of the 4 sessions, GW8IZR lead the first session. Bolton Wireless Club dominated the club listing by being in top place for all 4 sessions.

Congratulations go to winners, runners-up & all other certificate winners.

The M6 multiplier was suggested as a way to make this series of events more attractive to a wider number of entrants across the entirety of the UK and the committee is disappointed that only a tiny minority of entrants responded to the recent consultation. The responses received were strongly against change so the 2013 series of UKAC events will continue with multiplier M5.

Many thanks to all participants & we look forward to receiving your entries in 2013.

The first 4m UKAC of 2013 starts at 2000UTC on Tuesday January 29th.
