    UK/EI DX SSB Contest

    For a number of years, the RSGB has been concerned that members’ participation in its annual October HF DX Contest (and in the 21/28 events that proceeded it), has not been adequate to justify an international event of many hours duration. For that reason we have chosen to enter a partnership with the organisers of the two UK/EI DX Contests (CW and SSB) and to incorporate these contests in the RSGB HF contest calendar, while discontinuing the DX Contest.

    We encourage RSGB members who have regularly taken part in the DX Contest to join those who have previously entered the two UK/EI DX Contests; the resulting “home” participation, in the two Contests, representing the UK, Crown Dependencies and the Irish Republic, should support two excellent International events.

    The contest is adjudicated by the UK/EI DX adjudication team and the results are published both on the UK/EI website and on the RSGB HF Contest Website.
    1. Objective The aim of this contest is to promote contacts between stations in the U.K. and Ireland (UK/EI) and stations in the rest of the world (DX).

    All UK and EI contesters, including those with modest stations and antennas, will experience the fun of being a 'Multiplier' in a worldwide contest.

    There are long periods in the 24 hours when DX stations cannot work UK/EI stations because there is no propagation, so all entrants can work all other entrants for QSO points and multipliers. However a good score will only be achieved by working sufficient numbers of UK and EI stations and UK/EI district code multipliers.

    2. Date & Time Saturday 31st August - Sunday 1st September 2024

    1200 - 1200 UTC

    QSOs will not be accepted at or past the end time

    3. Frequency, Mode, Exchange

    Frequency: 3.5, 7, 14, 21 and 28 MHz

    Mode: SSB only

    Only one signal may be transmitted at any one time.

    Exchange: RS + Serial number + 2-letter District Code. The 155 UK and EI district codes are almost, but not entirely, aligned with Postcodes, so entrants should check carefully that they are sending the correct District Code. For example, stations in Northern Ireland have six possbile District Codes, not just BT.

    4. Log Submission
            and Adjudication     		Adjudication is automated, with logfiles being submitted online within 24 hours of the end of the contest.

    If the robot finds format errors, it will reject the log and ask for resubmission of a corrected logfile. 


    5. Results and Awards Single-operator entrants in the UK&CD who are members of the RSGB will have their scores entered automatically into the RSGB HF Championship

    The RSGB will display the full results of each contest, identifying those who were RSGB members at the time that the results were made available.

    6. Declaration By entering this contest you declare that:

    (a) Your station was operated strictly in accordance with the rules and spirit of the contest, within the conditions of your licence, and that the power output from your transmitter was no greater than that permitted in the Section of the contest that you are entering.

    (b) By submitting a log entry, entrants give the RSGB permission to publish, republish, print, and otherwise distribute that entry by any means.
