Firstly, I must apologise for the lateness of these results and thank those entrants who supplied duplicate logs after some were lost in the post.

Generally, activity was poor and conditions were average; the exception to this was session 3, although PA0GHB was the only station to significantly increase his score. Session 5 must have presented very variable conditions as there were widespread logging errors, in contrast to the good logkeeping in other sessions.

Given the low general turnout and lack of involvement from ‘B’ licencees, we have reluctantly concluded that this contest no longer justifies its position in the calendar. We are planning a new set of all mode cumulative contests as a replacement (to start in 1998) which we hope will offer an interesting alternative.

The VHFCC would like to thank those who have staunchly supported the contest over the years and we hope that you will find the replacement enjoyable.
