Most entrants agreed that conditions were above average in this contest, but many bemoaned the lack of activity. Nonetheless, the combined entries show that around 70 stations were active during the event, although only 16 entries were received. Several regulars were notable by their absence, and a fair few stations that appeared in other logs giving double-figure serial numbers didnt put in an entry.
Robert GD4GNH easily won the Single-Operator section to complete the double, with John G4ZTR in the opposite corner of the country as runner-up. Dave G1OGY gets the certificate for the leading 25W/single antenna station. Malcolm GM3TAL was only QRV for 15 minutes with a low power station Im sure he would have given GD4GNH more of a run for his money if hed been at full strength.
Only one entry in the multi-operator section so Wythall CG, G1WAC, have another certificate for the club shack wall. Lee G0MTN had the opportunity to practice his CW skills on the DTMF buttons on the back of their microphone take a key next time, Lee!
One or two comments were made about the timing of the event there were suggestions that it should be shorter, and that it should start earlier to catch better conditions. An analysis of the logs shows plenty of QSOs in the last hour, so I think the duration is probably OK but as always were eager to hear further comments on this and any other aspect of the contest.
Thanks to Roger G3MEH for his check log and to everyone who took the trouble to send their entries on disk or by email.
