1st 50MHz Backpackers Contest of 2005

Only seven contestants entered the 1st 50MHz Backpackers Contest of 2005. Band conditions were generally good with some excellent DX available to most stations. It’s surprising what can be worked with only a few watts and a modest antenna on 6m.

The10W Single Operator section was won by Dave Hewitt, GW8ZRE/P with Damian Coombes, M1VPN/P in second place.

The 3W Single Operator section was won by Peter Lowrie, GI7JYK /P with Michael Wright, G1WKS/P as the runner-up.
