4m UKAC 2008 Results

The 4m UK activity contests take place on the fifth Tuesday in the month. In 2008 this occurred in January, April, July, September & December.

This year produced the highest ever entry level since this series of contests started despite conditions being reported as very flat throughout the 5 sessions. A total of 185 different calls were active on the band.

Bryn Llewellyn G4DEZ wins the Single Operator Fixed section with Phil Guttridge G3TCU retaining second place position.

Mike (G8CUL) & Ann (G8NVI) Stevens operating as G8CUL win the Open section with Ross Wilkinson G6GVI operating as G0BWC/P in second place, just ahead of last years winner GW4EVX/P.

Please note that there are two important changes in the rules for 2009. First of all the two sections are now Open and Restricted. Restricted is 100W or less to a single antenna, and Open is all others. There is no distinction between single and multi operator stations.

Secondly, all four UKACs including 70MHz will have a Club Championship element, just like 144MHz has always done. Therefore please remember to include the name of your club if you want your points to count towards the club totals.
