70MHz Cumulative Contest 2009

2009 has produced the highest ever entry level to the 70MHz Cumulatives which goes along with the general trend of VHF contesting in the UK.

Throughout the 5 sessions, 242 different callsigns appeared in logs with a total of 2319 qso's. As is quite common, weather was not great with portable operators braving wet & windy conditions. The 3rd session was generally reported to be the best for conditions although still not much above average. Many stations also reported high noise levels.

The Flight Refuelling ARS, G4RFR win the Open section & G8CUL operated by Mike & Ann Stevens are runners-up. Robert Ferguson GD4GNH wins the Single Operator Fixed section & Bryn Llewellyn G4DEZ is runner-up.
