May 432MHz-248GHz UHF Contest Results 2009



Poor conditions and lack of UK activity was the main complaint from the majority of entrants in this year's RSGB May 432MHz to 248GHz contest. Entrants in Open Section dropped by 25%, but in the Single Fixed section entrants were nearly the same as in 2008.

Congratulations go to this year's winner of the Open Section, the Northern Lights CG who narrowly beat last years winner the South Birmingham Radio Society, in the SF Section, congratulations once again go to John Quarmby, G3XDY who was the winner by a substantial margin, with G0JJG coming second.

Only vertical, very quiet, only heard the four stations all 24 hours.

Rather low activity on Sunday - are all the PA/ON/DL stations beaming east all the time? Thanks to all, especially those that qsy'd from the EU 144 contest.
