3^rd 144MHz Backpackers Contest of 1998

This session of the 144MHz Backpackers was timed to coincide with the second day of VHF NFD. This helped most entrants to improve their QSO rate and quantity - and some real DX was worked, with several stations maiking QSOs over 1000 km. Congratulations to them.

With this increase also came a greatly increased incidence of logging errors. The weather was also kind to most stations with good sunny weather reported over most of the UK.
