Apart from meteor pings providing surprise dx contacts for GM4AFF and MM0BQI, it seems that most aspects of this contest were very average. From all areas, some stations bemoaned the conditions while others rated them as normal or good. Almost everyone shared in the wet weather; on Friday evening G8L arrived on site to 15’ visibility, driving rain and a howling gale. Later, this moved north-east and G2XV in Cambs. reported the tents and paperwork still wet by the time their entry was sent in!

Having seen the scores of some German stations, Reigate ATS decided to try a contest from their twin town, Eschweiler. The result was interesting but disappointing; from a modest location, and with poor conditions, they made fewer contacts than they would have from home.

Parallel Lines CG retain the Mitchell-Milling Trophy with an increased winning margin this year. G4PIQ reclaims the Thorogood Trophy and G4AEQ repeats last year’s win in section SS. G7RAU was constrained to operate overnight because of TVI problems and it’s very likely that this cost him first place here.
