RSGB VHF/UHF/SHF Contests 2012
Changes have been made to the UK Activity Contests this year.
- The AO and AR sections now have minimum power level requirements. Entries that do not meet these minimum power levels will be reclassified by the adjudicator.
- Switching between fixed direction antennas is now allowed in the AR and AL sections. This change has been made to allow for entrants who do not have a rotatable antenna but do have two or more fixed antennas.
- The power and antenna restrictions for the SHF UKACs sections have been rationalised into two new sections SAO and SAR
- The 50Mhz and SHF UKACs will be run for 11 months from Jan to Nov as Christmas falls on a Tuesday this year.
The 50MHz Backpackers contest has been discontinued after attracting only a single entry in 2011
A 6m CW contest has been added to the calendar to complement the 2m and 4m CW contests.
Entrants are reminded that all operators
of UK stations must be RSGB members except visiting amateurs, not
normally resident in the UK. However, the following contests require
only that the operator is a member of an RSGB Affiliated Society (AFS)
so long as the entry is on behalf of, or is related to, an entry for
that AFS.
The RSGB Contests
Committee, which organises these contests, welcomes ideas, feedback and
constructive criticism which can be e-mailed to chairman@rsgbcc.org or sent to any committee member.
