What's New
- We've attempted to make the
rules shorter and easier to understand
- We allow the use of DX Cluster
/ ON4KST like assistance in all events and sections. This has resulted in
the removal of section AX in the UKAC contests.
- We allow the use of Machine
Generated Modes (MGM) in all events. This is to provide more opportunities
for stations in remote parts of the country to make QSOs
under normal conditions. Note that in the major European co-ordinated
contests, IARU only allow the use of MGM on 6m and 4m, and so we will not
forward logs to IARU which include MGM QSOs on
2m and above.
- All VHF AFS contests now have
the same RSGB membership requirements
- The submission time for all
logs has been reduced to 7 days to allow for faster production of results
- Paper logs are no longer
accepted (we haven't received any for several years)
- We will be implementing a
policy of open logs where we will publish the logs of all entrants to
contests to provide greater transparency
- The rules for 6 hour sections have
been changed to allow operation after the end of the 6 hour period - but
obviously - not for points
- The minimum off-time between
the two blocks of operation allowed in a 6 hour entry has been increased
to 2 hours to align with new IARU rules for their 6 hour sections
There
is more to do to the VHF calendar and rules through 2016 in preparation for
2017. We will be running some activities to
- further simplify the rules
- make sure that we are running
the right number and mix of contests
- investigate the options for a
simple but geographically balanced scoring system for UKAC
If
you have suggestions that you'd like to make to these activities outside of the
normal consultation process, please contact g4piq@rsgbcc.org
