2.3GHz Trophy Contest

This contest, together with the sister 23cm Trophy Contest, are the final two events in the VHF Championship. The frequencies involved mean that they are usually quiet events and 2020 was no exception.

There were 42 active stations (52 in 2019) and 19 squares worked (22 in 2019).  There were 19 entries (21 in 2019).  Many stations noting poor conditions (graphically described by G4ASR as 'the worst since records began') and low levels of activity.

ODX in SF was provided by DR9A in a QSO with G4ODA at 751km.

This event is partly co-ordinated with a IARU Region 1 contest and the R1 logs were obtained and were used to assist with adjudication.

• John, G3XDY, who won the Single Operator Fixed section and, as highest scoring station, the G6ZR Memorial Trophy
• Keith, G4ODA who was runner up in Single Operator Fixed section
• Warrington C G (G3CKR/P - operator G8XVJ), who won the Single Operator Others Section
• Phil, M0NVS/P who was runner up in the Single Operator Others section
• Frank, PE1EWR who was Leading Overseas Station.
• John G3SQQ who was leading station using 25w or less into a single antenna.
