144MHz CW MARCONI CONTEST - 2nd/3rd NOVEMBER 2019

The number of entries this year was 36 (3 section 6O, 19 section 6S, 1 section MO and 13 section SF) including two entries from non-UK&CD stations in OK and PA. This was one entry fewer than last year. In addition to 4 check logs received direct by the RSGB, a further 290 check logs were received via IARU for checking purposes.

202 different valid callsigns from 20 DXCC entities (9A, DL, E7, EI, F, G, GD, GI, GM, GW, HA, HB, I, LX, OK, ON, PA, S5, SP & YU) in 63 'big squares' appear in entrants' logs. The best DX worked was 870km, between M2A and OL1C in JO60 square.

No reports on conditions described them as better than 'average', ranging down to 'dire', with a probable median of 'flat' or 'poor'. UK activity (probably linked to the conditions) was also reported as poor, although a couple of entrants reported finding that European activity was better.  But on the more positive side, there was only one report each of QSB and noise. Ah well, let's hope for better in 2020!
