RSGB Contest Results 2nd 144MHz Backpackers 2016

Seventeen stations entered this contest which, considering the weather forecast is a good number. Many entrants were not disappointed.  There were several reports of rain, static and wet. Radio conditions for most of the UK were described as being flat especially to the north with no GMs appearing anywhere in the logs.

ODX the time round was worked by GW7LAS/P to PA4VHF at a distance of 692km.  Great going with 3W.

The Backpackers Trophy will be awarded to the leading station is section 3B with the best three normalised scores out of the five sessions so there is still time to qualify for this with the remaining sessions.

  •  Runner-Up, Section 10H: G0EAK/P
