RSGB Contest Results First 50MHz Contest 2015

"Low activity" , "abysmal" , "terrible" , "poor" ".see a pattern developing here? Almost all entrants seemed to agree that conditions were disappointing, the most optimistic descriptions being "nothing special" and "average". Several stations reported the band as noisy, and experienced problems with QSB: and Scottish stations and those in the north of England felt isolated from the rest of the UK. And on the weather front, several stations complained about high winds! Nevertheless the number of entrants, at 49 (15 Open and 34 Single Fixed), was the second highest in six years. Perhaps the appearance of sporadic E at the very end (ten stations worked UX2KA in the last eight minutes) was enough to encourage participants to submit logs.

Congratulations to Tiverton (SW) RC G4TSW (for the third successive year) and Fred Handscombe G4BWP as winners of the Open and Single Fixed Sections respectively.
