First 70MHz 2015

Both activity (134 stations, +7%) and entries (49, +20%) were significantly up on 2014. Stations were active in 23 UK squares from G, GD, GJ, GM, GU and GW and additionally 3 PA0 stations were active. Generally portable stations had kind sunny conditions though there were reports of wind and cold temperatures.

Conditions were rated as "reasonable" to "good" with less QSB than usual. Activity was high, and although the QSO rate dropped throughout the event, 20% of all contacts took place in the last hour. There were 18 QSOs greater than 500kms of which 4 were greater than 600kms. The furthest contact was between G4TSW and PA4VHF at 729kms. Logging accuracy was very good with only 2.6% of QSOs being disallowed - perhaps a sign of the good conditions.
