RSGB Contest Results Overall UKAC 2015
v4.145 by G4CLA

The UK Activity Contests have enjoyed tremendous success over the last few years and have encouraged many of us to be active on Tuesday nights.  For some it's a night in the shack for others it's a trip out to the local, or for some the not so local, hilltop. But for many it's not just about the 2½ hours on a Tuesday evening. In between each contest many hours are spent improving and upgrading our stations. Testing new aerials, better coax, more sensitive preamp, looking at maps trying to find a better portable site; all these activities and more are all part of the UKAC syndrome that afflicts many of us.

The year-on-year increase in activity levels which have been seen in these contests can't continue, can it? Well it doesn't show any sign of slowing down yet. This year 134 clubs and 682 individual stations appear in the results.  Some are casual entries and others are from full blown UKAC Syndrome enthusiasts.

As expected, the battle for the top two positions in the Club section is once again an all-out fight between The Bolton Wireless Club, winners for 4 years up to 2012 and The Travelling Wave Contest Group, winners for the last two years.  This year the BWC have returned to the top of the table and deserve top marks for an outstanding performance. Although scores between the two groups were close on most of the bands it was BWC's impressive score in the SHF UKAC that made the difference.  The Bolton Club are therefore awarded the BWC Trophy. In third place up from 7th last year is Ossett ARO, just ahead last year's 3rd place team, Spalding DARS.

In the Individual Scores table, the consistently high scores from Pete G4CLA earned him overall 1st Place. Pete entered no less than 45 different UKAC's throughout the year and the dedication certainly paid off. Pete wins the Bryn Llewellyn G4DEZ Award. The battle at the top is close again this year and Bob G1ZJP operating as M1MHZ entered 47 sessions and makes 2nd Place. Bob has done very well managing to achieve 2nd Place for three consecutive years. Keith G4ODA was last year's winner and in is 3rd place this year. Keith submitted a total of 58 UKAC logs throughout 2015.

Robert, G0PEB/P was the leading single operator station to enter all session from a portable location. Roger 2E0BMO is the highest placed Intermediate licensee and Rees M6GZE is the highest placed Foundation licensee.

To summarise, trophy and certificate winners are listed below to whom we congratulate for their outstanding performance.
