SHF UKAC November 2016

Conditions were average for this event, with poor weather reported by some stations that made longer distance contacts difficult.

This year has seen a substantial increase in entries on all four bands, with the middle bands benefitting from stations using simple equipment based on video senders. For 2017 there will be some rule changes to encourage operation on the 2300MHz segment and a change to the scoring system to 1pt/km with no multipliers, as the bonus based scheme for the lower bands is not suitable where clusters of short range contacts areinvolved.

Stations wishing to take part in the 2.3GHz events are reminded that they must register their station with Ofcom, and also hold the relevant notice of variation if they wish to use 2300-2302MHz.
