RSGB Contest Results 2018
v4.144 by G4CLA

SHF UKAC November 2018

Activity and conditions were agreed to be poor, and earlier rain had moved away before it could benefit 10GHz operators. Nevertheless some good DX was worked by aircraft scatter on the lower two bands.

Annual Summary

Over 60 stations sent in entries on 2.3GHz this year, with over 40 on 10GHz. The middle bands were less well supported and could benefit from more activity.

The increase in duration in 2018 was welcomed except during the summer months when the 23:30 finish was too late for many. For 2019 no session will extend beyond 23:00, which means the 2320-2350MHz session will be limited to 90 minutes in June, July and August. All the other bands will run 19:30 to 22:30 clock time throughout the year.

A further change to the normalisation in 2019 to use the square root of the score will provide more points for stations lower down the tables than has been the case this year.

Stations wishing to take part in the 2.3GHz events are reminded that they must register their station with Ofcom, and also hold the relevant notice of variation if they wish to use 2300-2302MHz.

Congratulations to the winners and runners up in all the sections, who will receive certificates, as follows:
