RSGB Contest Results AFS Contest CW 2019
v4.158 by G4CLA

For  the first year this  contest was  run on a Saturday and 1pm start. Manystations started out on 40m though band conditions again favoured much longer distances and signals inter-G were weak and non existent after a couple of hours. Signals from Scotland and Europe  were very strong on 40m. Most G stations therefore again  migrated  quickly  to 80m , with a few returning to 40m later, or using SO2R operation to add both  band contacts.Participation has remained steady with 218 logs entered, including 22 non UK logs.Conditions  for DX on 40m were good and several USA stations were worked , many Russians, plus 3V8, 5B4, and those who wished to also worked many Europeans in a concurrent contest.

This year saw the second application  of General Club and Local Club categories. It is encouraging to see a further  increase in both General Clubs and Local Clubs categories.

Like last year the scores have been divided into three power categories, with certificates for the first three places in each, and also a separate non UK entry table.

The highest scoring local club was Aberdeen ARS', and  the highest General Club entry was Three A's , who also win the Edgware Trophy by a very small margin from Aberdeen. First place individual score went to GM4Z, operated  by GM4ZUK who wins the Marconi Trophy. In the individual sections,  the leading 100W station was GM3YEH, and leading 10W station M0RYB/P.The leading non UK station was DL6KVA.

Certificates have again been awarded to the leading club stations, both General and Local, and to the leading 3 stations, 2 stations and a single station teams.
