Total entries this year were just slightly down on 2018 reflecting the continuing poor HF  propagation at this stage of the solar cycle.  80m was by far the best band for UK&CD entrants but 40m proved to be very disappointing for inter-UK contacts, described as 'absolutely useless' by one entrant, therefore the afternoon session was slow going for the majority of entrants.  Western Eu participants did find the skip distance more favourable for working around the UK but not many were active.  Some early DX was to be found on 20m with VE and W in the logs, also eastern Europe, the Balkans and Russia.  The EA contest running throughout the day was unhelpful with good signals from EA into the UK, particularly on 40m, but this appears to be a domestic event and they were generally refusing to work stations outside their own country.

For the second year running G3TBK tops the 10W Fixed section followed by G4PVM in second and F/G0PZA the leading non-UK station.  In the 3W Fixed section, G3BJ is the leader with G3VIP in second place.  S51Z made all his QSOs on 20m to be the highest placed non-UK station.

Last year's runners up in the 10W Portable section GM3BSQ/P (ops MM0JOM and GM3WIJ) achieved first place this year with G4CZB/P moving up into second.  RK3AW/P is awarded a certificate as the leading non-UK station.  In the 3W Portable section YL3JD/P running just 2W to a home brew vertical was the leading non-UK station, overall first place goes to G4ARI/P with G4CWH/P the runner up in a reversal of last year's positions.

G3TBK, GM3BSQ/P, G3BJ and G4ARI/P are respectively awarded the 1930 Committee Cup, the Houston-Fergus Trophy, the HFCC Trophy and the Southgate Trophy.
