RoLo SSB 2016

For 2016 the two RoPoCo contests were re-branded as RoLo with the exchange changed to RS plus the entrant's locator and entry open to all, but retaining the 'rotating' feature which makes them different to most other contests. Instant appeal to non-UK stations did not materialise but with more publicity this may improve.

There were 90 stations active of which 13 were non-UK & CD (all Eu) and two of those submitted an entry. Congratulations to Joe Ryan EI7GY for achieving the first certificate awarded to a non-UK entrant, Steve White G3ZVW as the leading UK entrant and Mark Capstick G4RCD with the highest placed error-free log. Mark is therefore awarded the Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy.

Despite the simplified exchange there were only two other error-free logs from G3RLE and G0VQR. The mean error rate was 2.3 per log.

Some entrants reported difficulty with logging software and there were a number of cases where the sent exchange was different to that recorded in the log. This may have been the result of post-event editing so it is important to check carefully after manual changes that no typos have crept in.
