Many thanks for check logs received from M0MBF, GO3VQO and GO3ZGC
RoPoCo CW 2012
This year's contest is notable for the high number of errors of which there were a total of 152 giving a mean error rate per log of 3.2. Entrants reported weak signals, high noise and deep QSB so this combination seems to have made accurate copy particularly difficult this time. Congratulations therefore to Stewart Rolfe GW0ETF for this year achieving the highest scoring error-free log. There were only three other error-free logs from G4DBW, G3XTT and G3GWB.
The majority of errors were in received post code with the usual suspects of S/H/5 and D/B/6 appearing frequently, with added or missing characters another major cause of points lost. There were also a significant number of incorrectly logged RST and a few wrongly logged callsigns. The poor conditions mentioned above probably also contributed to quite a few not in log errors where the station claimed was in fact working someone else.
At the top of the table the number of errors was the deciding factor in the final positions with Ed Taylor GW3SQX capturing the number one spot by virtue of just one dud QSO which did contain two errors but fortunately for Ed it only counts once! Ed receives a winner's certificate and Stewart GW0ETF is awarded the G3XTJ Memorial Trophy.
Finally Graham Bubloz G4FNL retains the G5MY Trophy for the highest aggregate score over the two 2012 RoPoCo contests with a commanding lead this year of 70 points.
