RSGB Contest Results RoPoCo SSB 2012
v4.158 by G4CLA

RoPoCo SSB 2012

There were just 65 stations active in this contest resulting in 25 entries.  In terms of the logs submitted this represents a drop of 60% compared to last year despite this being an HF Championship event.

Leading the field by a clear margin is Chris Plummer G8APB who is awarded the Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy and certificate for the highest placed error-free log.  There were 11 other error-free logs from G4FNL, G0LZL, G3SWC, G4RCD, G4ERW, G3TDH, G3JJZ, GW3SQX, G4XPE, M0RKX and M0TZY.

The mean error rate was 0.6 per log, a considerable improvement on 2011 but probably not inconsistent with the much reduced activity.  Entries this year were via the robot and this resulted in a few logs losing data due to spaces being left within the sent or received postcode.  Warnings of log defects were clearly stated in the acknowledging return email and checking by the entrant would have shown the loss of data.  No additional penalties were applied this time even though extra work reconstructing the logs was required.  Please do not ignore warnings from the robot!  Help with uploading logs is always available from CC members.

The remaining errors were mostly post code or RS but there were a number of cases where an O had been logged as a 0 and vice versa, some of these were within a callsign.
