Many thanks for check logs received from G3GWB and M1BYO
RoPoCo SSB 2013
This year saw a marked increase in both active stations and entrants although still not back to the numbers in the first SSB RoPoCo in 2011. Sadly notable this year were the very few error-free logs, mirroring the dismal result in the last CW RoPoCo! It seems the skills of copying anything other than 5914 or similar are disappearing fast. Is this the reliance on computing to send and log the exchange?
Graham Bubloz G4FNL is the clear winner this year and Jim Bryant M0JWB receives the Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy for the highest placed error-free log. There were only two other error-free logs from 2E0MNS and M0ACL.
The mean error rate was 2.6 per log with the majority of errors being in received postcode. The remainder were mainly callsign, RS reports and 'not in log'. If you have lost points, you can access your UBN by clicking on the UBNs link in the callsign column of the results table and following the instructions. You will need the Passcode sent to you in the confirmation email when you uploaded your log.
A couple of stations were heard not exchanging signal reports, this is a requirement in general rule 4(b). No action was taken as both were heard sending the full exchange a short while later in the contest.
The standard of logs received this time was much improved with just one requiring manual reformatting by the adjudicator before it would run through the adjudication software. From comments made by entrants many have had to do post contest edits to get the Cabrillo log in the right format as some logging programs do not fully support this contest. I did spot a few errors which were most likely logging or typing mistakes but those I do not correct! It is the entrant's responsibility to ensure an accurate log is submitted so do check thoroughly before uploading.
