RoPoCo SSB 2015

There were 103 stations active in this event of which 49 submitted an entry and three sent in checklogs. Graham Bubloz G4FNL found 75 of them to take first place and with no log errors he also receives the Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy for the highest placed most accurate log. There were 13 other error-free logs from GI0AZA, G0DVJ, GW3SQX, G3SWC, G3ZVW, G4ARI, G4BVY, G4CWH, G4FJK, G4PIQ, G7HYS, M0JWB and M0TQR.

The mean error rate was 1.7% with most errors as usual in the received postcode plus a few callsign and RS mistakes. This year there were also a number of postcode errors found in the sent column where the logged postcode did not match what was actually transmitted. One entrant started off by sending their own postcode to every station but then reverted to the correct format. The submitted log tabulated what should have been sent so editing the log is required to ensure that the data matches with a note to the adjudicator to advise of this initial error. Log editing is perfectly acceptable in this case or where the logging program does not fully support this contest but do check carefully that it has been done accurately.
