2016 144MHz CW Marconi Contest

There were 36 entries and one check log this year, slightly down on last year's record entry of 42 but still considerably greater than the number of entries in 2014 (28).

The contest was again beset with bad weather and generally poor VHF conditions.

The winner in the Single Operator Fixed section was David Gorman G0OOG. M4M operated by Paul Bowen M0PNN was the runner-up in this section.

The Open section was won by G8X (South Coast CG and the Pembrokeshire CG), the runner-up was G4C. F1AKK/P was the Leading Overseas Station in this section.

Jeremy Brown G3XZG operated the G3MEH station once again this year and won the 6 hour Single Operator Fixed section. John Lemay G4ZTR was the runner-up. SP2HHX was the Leading Overseas Station in this section.

The winner of the 6 Hour Open section was David Dibley G4RGK/P relegating last year's winner John Cockrill G4CZB/P representing the Northampton club into the runners-up position.

Mike Sharp G4XPE leading station running 25W or less to a single antenna in 6S section

This contest was the final event in the VHF CW Championship.
