1.3GHz Trophy Contest

This contest, together with the sister 13cm Trophy Contest, are the final two events in the VHF Championship. The frequencies involved mean that they are usually quiet events and 2018 was no exception.  This year both events carry 1000 normalised points for the Championship, but this hasn't delivered an increase in the number of entrants in the 1.3GHz Trophy contest.

There were 124 active stations (140 in 2017 and 111 in 2016) and 35 squares worked (40 in 2017 and 39 in 2016).  There were 32 entries (32 entries in 2017 and  25 in 2016).   So activity has only changed marginally - with many stations noting poor conditions and low levels of activity.  And the weather made life on hills unpleasant, with one station describing conditions as 'grim' and 'rain, rain, rain'.  This is all in marked contrast with the 1.3GHz AC where for the September contest there were 82 entries.  The 1.3GHz Trophy is just as much fun, honest - and scores do count towards the AFS, O and SF Championship tables.

OK2A provided ODX in both O (M1CRO/P at 818km) and SF (G3XDY 827km).
