RSGB Contest Results Oct UHF 2016
v4.158 by G4CLA

Last year the adjudicator was able to report an increase in the number of entries for this contest, but that is not the case this year, possibly because of the clash of dates with the Newark Hamfest.  There were fewer entrants in almost all bands and sections, which is disappointing.

Several stations noted the lack of UK activity, but the concurrent IARU R1 event appears to have brought good numbers of QSO's into the continent and the ODX (Warrington's QSO with DL0GTH at 917km on 70cm) is up on last year.  Warrington also manage ODX on 23cm at 877km.  The number of active stations on 70cm was 278 compared with 348 in 2015, so activity was markedly lower.

Logging standards were generally good, even after comparison with R1 logs.

Congratulations to Colchester RA who won the overall event by a very large margin, the only slight upset to their ascendency caused by Reigate and Crawley who beat them into second place on 70cm. Congratulations also to G3XDY who wins the SF section by an even larger margin, and who also wins all six of the bands he entered.
