Backpackers Championship 2013

Fifty stations took part in this year’s Backpackers series of contests, representing a big increase on last year’s thirty-five entrants. The Hilltoppers (10H) section had the same number of entrants to last year, but the Backpackers (3B) section nearly doubled in size, going from sixteen to thirty one.

The Backpackers Trophy is awarded to the overall winner of the Backpackers (3B) section. This year the Backpackers Trophy is awarded to Rhys Thomas, GW4RWR/P, who won three of the four sessions that he entered. Steve Marsh, G4TCU/P, was runner up, and was the winner of the second session.

The Hilltoppers (10H) section was won by Paul Selwood, G8BGV/P, who won all four sessions that he entered. Runner up was Tony Judge, G1ARU/P.
